The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and outside the grass is as green as can be. That’s right, summer is HERE! That means school is out, and it can be easy to get in the habit of staying inside and watching TV or just lounging around. And while slow days are awesome every now and then, it’s also important to get outside and get moving when you can! Here’s a look at several local parks that would be great spots to soak up the sun with the whole family.
Which park has a tennis court, basketball court, lighted baseball fields, picnic areas, grills, AND a splash pad? That’s right, it’s Kiwanis Park! This park has everything you could possibly need for a day full of family fun. Enjoy a game of basketball or tennis, then cool off with a run through the splash pad. After a long day under the sun, head to the shade and grill some burgers as the perfect end to the day.

Practice this theory with a change of scenery when you go to Glenn C. Hilton, Jr. Memorial Park! The park has a lighted and paved walking trail, meaning you don’t have to worry about bumping into anyone and also you can walk at any time of the day — you don’t just have to come during the daylight hours.
On top of the trail, there are also five picnic shelters, grills, two playgrounds, a 24-hole disc golf course, and a memorial garden. Perfect for a full day outside!
