Are you a huge fan of color? Maybe you’re a runner, too? Well, here’s your perfect day — the Color Me SALLY Run! Keep reading to learn all about this fun fundraiser, and see how you can get a piece of the action.
What to Expect
If you’ve never participated in a color run, here’s what you can expect from the day — as you run or walk through the course, volunteers will throw the color on runners at the designated Color Stations along the route. The race will be held on Saturday, August 10, at 9 a.m. Mark your calendar so you won’t forget!
It doesn’t stop with the race, though. Afterward, a post-run celebration will be held, so make sure to stick around. Music, food, fun, and more can all be expected.

There are two ways to get involved with the Color Me SALLY Run. You can participate in the race, either as a runner or as a phantom runner, or you can just donate directly. Funds from the race will benefit the University Christian High School’s Sign Fund and the Sally Sowers Scholarship Fund, so you know your money is going to a good cause.
Early registration for runners is through July 30, and includes a free race shirt to wear during the run! If you can’t make up your mind, don’t worry, registraion on the day of the race starts at 7:45 a.m., but does not guarantee a shirt.
If you sign up ahead of time and want to pick up your packet leading up to race day, you can do so on August 9 from 10 am until 6:30 pm at Fleet Feet Sports Hickory, Belle Hollow Shopping Center 3022 B North Center St., Hickory, NC 28601. You can also pick up your packet on race day from 7:45 until 8:45 am.
Phantom runners are just as important as runners, so if you still want to help out and get a shirt out of it, you can sign up and pick up your shirt at packet pick up or at the race. Also as important as running, there is the option to donate here.
