Well, don’t worry. You can easily take them to the Catawba Science Center in Hickory for a fun lesson they’ll actually enjoy learning about. When to Go

Are you ready to plan your trip to the science center? It’s open from Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Want to go on the weekend instead? On Saturday, check it out from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Sunday, you can visit any time from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. However, just keep in mind that it’s closed to the public on Mondays, so don’t plan to stop by then.

If you are a member of the science center, you can visit any time for free. However, those who aren’t members will have to pay a small entrance fee. Adults will pay $8 for admission, while kids ages 3 to 18 can get in for only $6. Seniors who are 62 years of age or older also get in for $6, and kids under age 3 are free. If you’re a student or an active member of the military, you’ll also get a discount.

What to See While You’re There

There are several exhibits you will want to check out when you’re at the science center. Perhaps one of the most popular is the planetarium.
